See Mail - LAN / MCI E-Mail System:
This is a comprehensive e-mail system fully comparable to commercial
systems costing up to 10 times more. It includes a powerful range of
tools & utilities to manage a complete e-mail system, not just basic
message passing. The internal mail system supports groups, password
security & mail attachments. The MCI mail access includes both on-line
access & full unattended background mail transfers. Extended support is
provided for mail storage, including filing cabinet with drawers &
folders, mail compression, & archiving. The system also has a
configurable built-in PIM database system for addressing & other uses.
Mail management tools including key word searching across folders, bulk
move, delete, & archive tools. A multi-font/page formatting print tool
rounds out the package. Supports mouse, 43/50 line modes, & setting of
UI defaults. Recognises MCI, Compuserve, GE mail, can be configured to
read old mail from other systems for seamless upgrade. 4th disk is a
superb 100+ page laser printable users manual.
The latest version adds feature to share a single MCI mailbox & modem
across a network. Also foreign language menu support - French/German.
Requires: MS/DOS 3+, 450k RAM, either DOS Network, or Modem & MCI.
============================================================================
The intended user market is two fold -
o LAN network users, especially users of low-end LAN's with very
basic e-mail capabilities (such as LANTASTIC). Typical users
would be a small business with up to 10 staff. They can
optionally use MCI Mail to send FAX's, urgent paper mail, &
e-mail to associates who are e-mail enabled.
o Single users who require extended MCI mail facilities. See
Mail is the best available system for MCI Mail. Background
mail in only 25k, & the fullest support for MCI features is
provided. (Existing Lotus Express users can upgrade seemlessly
to See Mail).
